Western culture tells us that we must build wealth in physical possessions, so even when we have excess resources that would make a huge difference in the lives of others, we hold on to it because we think we have to fend for ourselves. We should rather recognize the multiplying effect of sharing what we have, and we may to be on the receiving end of such generosity when we need it most.

We should be generous and thoughtful for giving to others not to be seen but to know that you are making a difference in someones life. In todays society people want everything to be all about them and ask "well what am I getting out of it" when we should be thinking of others. God has called us to be good stewards and try to be like Jesus and Jesus gave to others without asking for anything in return. In Acts 20:35, God talks about it being more blessed to give than receive. Always look to help others out even if you arent getting anything in return.
"In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Almost all of us are in a position to help at least one other person. We often look past in doing so because its too "inconvenient" and we "don't have time". I encourage all of us to change this and help someone in need, even if its in a very small way
